, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Indian capital is facing its worst-ever dengue outbreak since 2010, with the mosquito-borne disease claiming the lives of 11 people and affecting 1,800 people.

The Delhi government has threatened to cancel the licences of private hospitals that turn away dengue patients and canceled leaves of all doctors in the wake of the health crisis.

"We have become blind in race to make more and more profit. We shouldn't forget our humanity," Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Tuesday in a stern message to private hospitals.

The government said 1
,800 dengue cases have been recorded in the national capital this year, the highest number since 2010 when more than 6,000 case were reported.

It also said that 1,000 extra beds have been made available in state-run hospitals to treat dengue patients and set up a dengue helpline.

The Delhi government has also asked all schools to ensure that children must wear full-sleave clothes for the next month to avoid mosquito bites and asked people to avoid self medication.

, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- The ghostwriter for The Art of the Deal, U.S. President Donald Trump's best-selling memoir, predicted that the embattled president would resign by the year's end.

An outspoken critic of Trump's political career, Tony Schwartz told CNN news anchor and host Anderson Cooper in a televison appearance on Thursday that the "snowball" of Trump's criticism engulfing presidency "is beginning to gather momentum as it comes down the mountain."

Schwartz added that what was going on with Trump at the moment reminded him of the last days of former president Richard Nixon
, who resigned in 1974 after his administration's attempt to cover up its involvement in the eavsdroping of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate complex in Washington, DC, triggered a constitutional crisis and led to what has been known as the Watergate scandal.

"He's put himself in an isolated, no-win position. The level of his distructiveness is staggering
," Schwartz said, as reflected in the president's response to the deadly racist riots in Virginia as well as his "back-and-forth" remarks on the Korean Peninsula.

Schwartz, who CNN said had spent 18 months working in collaboration with Trump on the latter's 1987 memoir, predicted earlier on Thursday via Twitter that the president "is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice
," adding that his resignation will likely happen by fall, "if not sooner."

Robert Mueller, an American lawyer and former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was appointed in May by the U.S. Department of Justice as special counsel overseeing an ongoing investigation into alleged collusion between Trump's presidential campaign team and Russia in the meddling of the 2016 U.S. election. Trump has repeatedly denounced both the collusion and the probe.

"Sitting in the background of this
, Anderson, is of course Mueller's continuing investigation into Russia," Schwartz said on air on CNN.

The writer said Trump's frequent lies as president or when he ran for office are nothing new, but rather "This is a man who's been deceitful and manipulative for 50 years plus."

Schwartz told the New Yorker magazine last year that he felt "a deep sense of remorse" for "presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is" in The Art of the Deal.

Cooper has also criticized Trump several times. The president often bluntly calls out CNN for its "fake news."

BEIJING, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- As smog continued over parts of China on Friday, lawmakers at the ongoing annual legislative sessions fiercely discussed ways to improve air quality.

Control of pollution will be a priority for the government of northern China's Hebei Province, home to seven of the country's 10 most polluted cities
, while the Beijing mayor declared ""all-out effort"" on the problem.

Official statistics over a period of 52 years show the number of smoggy days at a record high in 2013. More than 100 big- and medium-sized cities in 25 provincial-level regions were affected by smog.

The pollution has been blamed for a decline of tourists visiting smoggy regions that were once known for their tourist attractions.

Taking the example of Beijing, the capital saw a decline of inbound tourists last year for the first time since 2008. Tourists arriving fell 14.3 percent in the first half of 2013 compared with the same period in 2012.

The increased frequency and duration of smog is the target of much discontent on Chinese social media, where millions of Chinese fear their health is being jeopardized by the side effects of decades of unchecked economic expansion.

The ruling Communist Party of China and the central government are taking a multi-pronged approach to the problem.

A five-year action plan unveiled by the central government in Sept. 2013, cuts coal use
, shuts down polluters, promotes cleaner production and cuts the density of inhalable particulate matter. Putting the ambitious ideas in practice will cost an estimated 1.75 trillion yuan (around 290 billion U.S. dollars).

The CPC has also changed its system for evaluating the performance of government and party officials, once focused almost exclusively on GDP. In a key reform bl.
